| There are only 8 interns coming this week. Most of them are
undergraduates and MBA students. I found out that we were speaking
different languages. I don't know that's because I'm too kinda shy to
talk to them or my English is that poor that I don't know what to say
to them or I really lack those background to share the same topics with
them. But I enjoy my talking with my colleagues in my group. They are
all very nice.
I officially start working today. It's like at school. Given a task, I
need to find some paper to read and then I'm going to write some codes
to realize. But the problem I'm dealing with is not very related to my
research at Purdue but still okay.I should work hard from tomorrow on.
My roommates haven't arrived yet. I still live alone. Actually, I found
it's quite good to live alone. Although a little bit lonely, but from
another perspective, I have space. Haha.

| I'm a little sad these day. So many people are leaving. I feel like
I've here for a long time. How more many years I'll be here? 2,3 or
even more? I don't know. People come and leave. I'm the one who will
stay for a long time. This reminds me of my commencement in college. So
sad at that time. But at least at that time, I was one of those who
would leave and start a brand new life full of uncertainty. I was very
excited then. But now nothing will change for me in at least 3
years. Maybe I'm too sentimental now. One good thing is that I have a
car and I can drive several hours to see friends around. That's better
than in China which is less convenient to visit a friend far away.
It's been a year since I was baptised last Easter. And I've almost been to BCM for a year. Time flies.
God finally answered my prayer or at least gave me some direction to my
question. Even though it's so cruel to me, I believe that he has his
only plan for me. I should have faith in him and get my life restarted.
Everything will get better and better.
There are so many things to do during the next two weeks. Homework,
research and so on. I need to focus more on my academic work.

| Yesterday morning I accidentally dropped my watch on the ground and it was not working anymore.
I was so sad about that because that watch had been with me for about
13 years since I was sixth grand in elementary school. It was
always punctual and never gave me any trouble although it didn't look
that fancy at all. Even though some of my friends always change
beautiful watches and suggested me doing that also, I never wanted to
wear a new one. 13 years is a long time which is longer than the time
I've known most of my friends. It carries my memory and other feelings.
It's just so hard for me to start trying new things if I begin to love
doing one thing unless environment forces me to do so. I ate 'dan bin'
in my highschool as my breakfast for 3 years and sandwich in college
for 4 years every morning and never got sick of them. Is that called
persistent or stubborn?
That characteristic sometimes will give me headache when something doesn't go the way I want.
Maybe it's a sign that I need to change myself.

| Last night we small bible study group started Colossian. Jonathan began
it with a thanksgiving. He first thanked those who attended
single-mom-help section at Calvary on Saturday morning. To my surprise, he didn't
mention my name among 6 helpers. Although I didn't help for his praise,
I was really disappointed about that. If he didn't praise anyone, I
wouldn't have thought about that at all. But he did it and only didn't
mention me. I didn't say any words to him about that. I didn't think he
did that purposely. But I can't help think that if I were a leader, I
would carefully do that so that I would make everyone happy.
Talking about leadership, I am running for Chinese Students Association
board for next year. I was there last year and really enjoyed serving
for Chinese students. But this year something really irritating to me
happened. Starting from last Monday, all chinese students could vote
for the board members. Before that, some people started building a
election group so that they could get more votes. Well, to make sure
that I would get enough votes to be elected, I joined another group.
Now everyone tried hard to get more votes from friends and friends'
friends using every effort. It's like politics which I'm sick of. My purpose to be in the
association is to serve people and have fun. Now it turned out to be
that way which really out of my expectation. Too bad.

| My 4-day trip during Spring Break went great. We drove more than 2000 miles and took a lot of pictures.
We departed on Thursday morning and arrived Columbus,IN at noon and had
lunch there. It is a little town with a lot of beautiful architectures.
After another 5 hours' drive, we arrived at Nashville, TN. We went to a
college and I almost lost m cell phone there. Because we found out that
we didn't need to log in to use the computer, we began to check my
email and I put my cell phone on the desk. Then when I was replying
someone's email my friends said we needed to go and I hurried to leave
and forgot to take my cell phone. After driving for a while, I found
that I lost my cell phone and went back to look for my cell phone. I
was lucky that I found my cell phone and we went to a Japanese
restaurant called Kobe Streak Japanese restaurant to have dinner. The
food was good but we waited for 20 minutes and after dinner it was
almost 9:30pm. Then we drove to meet James and he introduced us famous
bars and other history of interests. Nashville is a beautiful city and
is famous for its music. It did leave me a great impression. My friends
all thought it was the best city among all the cities we went during
this trip. Maybe James' introduction let us know more about that city
while in the other cities we just randomly looked around and that made
a difference. Anyway, it is a pleasant place to live. Because it was
too late and everyone was tired, we didn't go to the bar. But we could
feel the passion of people who were in the bar. They enjoyed the music
and dance and everyone seemed high.
In the morning of the second day, we went to Jack Daniel which
is famous for its whiskey. We were on a tour and were introduced its
history and those three guyes bought several bottles. I didn't buy any
whiskey because I don't like to drink. We had lunch there and headed
for Memphis. This time we reserved the restaurant so that we didn't
need to wait for a long time to have dinner. We had our dinner at P.F
Chang which is a famous Chinese restaurant. Then we went to Elvis
Presley's Graceland. I know his name but never listened to his music.
But when we arrived there, it was already close. So we just took some
pictures and looked at some windows and then we headed for Little Rock,
our next destination.
After spending a night in Little Rock, in the next morning, we
went to Clinton's library. There displayed a lot of pictures of Bill
Clinton and introduced his feat. Except his affairs, I appreciate his
work for economics and international relations. During his presidency,
he achieved several historical records.
Little rock doesn't look like what I expected. Maybe because I
didn't spend a lot of time there, it looks like Lafayette to me. Haha,
maybe that was why Jonathan couldn't recommend me any places except
Clinton's library.
In the afternoon, we headed for Hot Spring. When we got there,
it was almost 3pm and all the famous bath places were closed. Before
the trip, they all wanted to have a bath there but after we visited one
bath place which introduced its history they all said it was like the
bath place when they were little and no one wanted to have bath there.
We went to a lake and then headed for Big Spring Park in Missouri.
We planned to live in a cabin where we could make a fire. But
finally we found that it was in the mountain and when we were close to
it, we almost ran out of gas. The sign of short of gas was on, and we
were not sure whether it was enough to get down the hill. It was really
scary. We couldn't find our cabin and it was very dark and worst of
all, we didn't have enough gas. Luckily, before we ran out of gas, we
got down and found a gas station and filled enough gas. We bought some
food and woods and arrive at our cabin to make a fire. We played
cards and ate food until 3am in the morning. The name of the game was
called Gong Pig. Anyone who lost the game would be called pig and that
person needs to mimic pig to find the special card using his nose. It
was really fun.
The last day we got up very late and thus ate lunch there then
we headed back to Purdue. In the way we went to St. Louis and visited
the gateway Arch. We went to the top of the Arch and took some
pictures. When we arrived at Purdue, it was midnight.
I skipped a class yesterday because I was so tired to attend it.
The trip was really exhausting but it was fun. Now I've been to a lot
of places in U.S. Washington D.C, New York City, Boston, Orlando, San
Jose, San Francisco, Chicago, Nashville, Memphis,Little Rock,Hot
Spring, St. Louis. Even more than the number of places I went to
in China. I think my next destination will be Yellowstone Nation Park
and Las Vegus.
It seemed that Zhuangzhi and Jerry were not that strong. They
each drove for 2 or 3 hours in turn everyday and felt tired at night. But every
times James drove 6 hours alone home and that's Okay for him. Is that
because he gets used to that? Even Jolly drove for 1 or 2 hours a day.
So actually they didn't drive that long. Anyway, I didn't drive at all
but I also felt tired. I think I should spend more time exercise so
that I will have a strong body.
